     John Combs Hayes Souther and Jackson Souther were New Tag I'm sure this is the same, found in the 1880 census. John Combs Hayes Souther was born on 27 October 1827 at Wilkes County, North Carolina.1 He was the son of John Jesse Souther and Mary "Polly" Combs.1 John Combs Hayes Souther was also known as Jack Souther. He married Nancy Collins, daughter of Thompson Collins and Celia Self, on 6 February 1852 at Union County, Georgia.1 John Combs Hayes Souther died on 4 January 1891 at Choestoe, Georgia, at age 63.1 He was buried at New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Choestoe, Georgia.2,3 John and Nancy are buried in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Choestoe, Georgia. He served in the Confederate Army, 6th Regiment, Georgia Calvary.

Elizabeth had three children with her first husband William Nix. She is buried in Norwood Cemetery, Norwood, Colorado.

Jesse Washington Souther was born on 23 April 1836 at Indiana or Georgia or North Carolina ?1 He was the son of John Jesse Souther and Mary "Polly" Combs.2 Jesse Washington Souther was also known as Wash Souther. He married Sarah E. Collins, daughter of Frank Collins and Ruthis Nix, on 11 January 1861 at Union County, Georgia.2 Jesse Washington Souther married Nancy C. Sullivan on 12 March 1876.2 Jesse Washington Souther died on 12 September 1926 at Choestoe, Georgia, at age 90.2,3 He was buried at New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Choestoe, Georgia.2

     William Joseph Souther was associated; By association with some "Jacks woman", it seems that William adopted a son that she had named Sherman BROOKSHIRE. He would later be known as Sherman Brookshire SOUTHER.1 He was born on 28 August 1841 at Union County, Georgia.2 He was the son of John Jesse Souther and Mary "Polly" Combs.2 William Joseph Souther was born on 28 August 1844 at Choestoe, Georgia.1 William Joseph Souther was also known as Sherman Brookshire. He appeared on the census of 1880 at Pueblo, Pueblo, Colorado.3 He died in 1922 at Norwood, San Miguel, Colorado.4 He was buried at Norwood Cemetery, Norwood, San Miguel, Colorado. William never married. "William had a son by a Jacks woman who had married a Brookshiere and he was in the Civil War. The son Sherman Brookshire learned after he was grown and married that William Souther was his father and had his name changed to Souther." Bill was a member of the Masons. He is buried in Norwood Cemetery, Norwood, Colorado.2 He was buried on 16 April 2008 at [26073359]; [not mine].
